Daily student attendance is mandatory to insure continuity in educational advancement. Eight unexcused ½ day absences in any four-week period, during which school is in session, shall be considered irregular attendance as defined by Oregon State law. (Regular attendance is required of all students in the State of Oregon). Parents will be contacted if this occurs.
If a student misses more than one hour either in the morning or afternoon session, he/she is considered absent for the half-day.
When a child returns to school after an absence, please send a written excuse to the teacher via your child or by e-mail. The excuse should include the child’s name, reason for the absence, date(s) the child was absent, and the parent’s signature.
Please make every effort to schedule doctor and other appointments outside of the school day. We also urge you to schedule vacations when you know we will be out of school. Standardized testing is an important assessment tool. Students should not miss school the week of Stanford test taking (4/07-4/18), unless they are ill. |
