On November 1, 2008, St. John’s will host its Annual Benefit Auction at the Crowne Plaza Portland Convention Center (formerly the Holiday Inn). Enjoy a celebration of our global community at Passport to the World. Dine on exquisite cuisine, get your passport stamped as you travel the continents, and take part in the silent and live auctions featuring a fabulous, eclectic mix of must-have goodies.
Our auction is the school’s largest fund raiser. Last year we earned more than $100,000 for the school which directly benefited the students. We all agree that making sure our children receive the richest education possible is a very worthy cause. 

How to help with the St. John the Baptist
School Auction

While the auction committee is in the process of pulling together great auction items, most of our highest earning packages in the past have come from St. John’s families and friends like you. We hope you will help us again this year through generous donations to this very important school event.

Each school family is expected to contribute $150 in donations.  But we ask that you don’t stop there.  Help us make this event spectacular with an outstanding range of items.  There are so many ways for your family to contribute:

• Ask your employer to make a product or cash contribution or to purchase an ad for our catalog.  See the advertising information link on this page.
  
• Ask friends or family members who own businesses for an item donation. Nothing is too small as items can often be packaged with other items.
  
• For those local businesses you support, ask for a donation such as gourmet grocery certificates, restaurants, sporting goods, specialty clothing, jewelry, spas, hair salons, toy stores – the list is limited only by your imagination.
  
• Do you or someone you know have a second home you could donate for a week or a long weekend?
  
• Do you have a special talent you could share, e.g., knitting, fused glass making, painting, or jewelry making?
   
• Are you a gourmet cook? Want to donate a fabulous dinner by teaming up with friends to help host a great evening? Our dinners are some of our bestselling items.
  
• Do you have connections to hotels, restaurants, maybe an airline? Help us put together some fun trips!

by gathering together for an evening of friendship and fun.
